A Battery Beast Ahead of Its July 15 Launch
Motorola is gearing up to unveil the Edge 70 Max on July 15, and while the company has already teased the phone's design and confirmed its chipset, a new leak from Indian retailer Flipkart has spilled the rest of the details — and they're impressive.
According to the listing, the Edge 70 Max will house a massive 7,100 mAh battery, paired with 90W wired charging. Motorola is also touting what it calls the "category's only fast magnetic wireless charging," which tops out at 25W.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Serious Cooling
Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, backed by up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. To keep that hardware running cool under load, Motorola has fitted the phone with an ArcticMesh cooling system built around a 5,500mm² vapor cooling chamber — a setup clearly aimed at sustained performance, including gaming.
Display Details
Motorola had previously confirmed a QuadHD+ display capable of hitting 7,000 nits of peak brightness. The Flipkart leak fills in the rest of the picture:
- LTPO panel with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate
- Gorilla Glass 7i protection
- 10-bit color depth for richer, more accurate colors
Design and Build
The Edge 70 Max will sport a glass back panel with an aluminum frame, giving it a premium in-hand feel. On the gaming front, Motorola is advertising support for 120FPS gameplay in BGMI, reinforcing the phone's performance-first positioning.
What This Means for Buyers
With a battery well above the 7,000 mAh mark, fast wired and wireless charging, flagship-grade silicon, and a high-refresh LTPO display, the Edge 70 Max is shaping up to be one of Motorola's most ambitious releases yet. All eyes are now on the official launch on July 15, when Motorola is expected to confirm pricing and full specifications.
